In The English School all our food is cooked and handled by the school’s own kitchen staff. With this system we guarantee food safety and at the same time offer a menu with quality and diversity that no other system allows nowadays. In order to meet the nutritional needs of the children, we prepare the menu according to the profile of the diners according to each age group. This plan is based on the nutritional pyramid, which allows a healthy, balanced diet rich in carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and proteins for each of the diners, always backed by a team of dieticians and nutritionists experts in the field. Our dining service is able to offer from light diets to diabetic, gluten or allergy free to any type of ingredient diets. We believe that the school dining room is an excellent opportunity to teach the importance of hygiene from an early age. For this reason, we instruct students to adopt and promote good behavioural and hygiene habits, including a proper oral hygiene. The preparation of the menu at The English School does not end with the food offered in our dining room. We are aware of the importance of informing the parents of the food their children are eating at school. The information provided to parents allows them to adapt dinner, as an effective complement to pupils’ lunches, according to the daily menu.
SCHOOL BUS SERVICE
The school transport service is offered through the bus company Cabecò D`Or. The school secretary can inform parents about bus routes, schedules and stops during the academic year 2018/2019.
The School has Accident Insurance for all students. This insurance covers the risk of accidents occurring to students within The English School grounds, or whilst on cultural visits and excursions, always under supervision of their teachers, or whilst using school transport.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The Centre has various extracurricular activities that are taught from the end of the school day until 5:00 p.m. These activities, of a creative, technological, or sports nature, are a perfect complement to the curriculum. Information on these activities is available from the school secretary and on the website itself. In addition, parents are informed regularly through the corresponding newsletters relating to these activities.
